Tonite I decided to go to a 9:20 showing if Breaking Dawn.
It had been about 10 yrs. since I last visited only because
they won't showing movie at Quarry Theatre which is my
preference. I really enjoyed my experience and was overjoyed
not being out 30 buks like at other theaters!
I will be going back no doubt. If u can handle popcorn all over
    floor it is worth it!!!

This is a wonderful theatre so I suggest the person above just shut it. The dollar movies is a wonderful family friendly environment! And for a great price. So mr.person above GO AWAY I COULD CARE LESS IF A BULLY LIKE YOU NEVER HAD THIS AMAZING SERVICE AGAIN.

Let's set the record straight, this is my 1st review. The previous comments are filled with too many generalities. I am a westsider, but now live in the NE of SA. I have gone to all the theaters to experience each one. I can go to the Palladium if "I" want to, or go to the Cinemarc (dollar movie) if "I" want to, and it's only a dollar if you go on the special day or time. To avoid crowds, noise, kids, rude people, "try" and go to the 1st showing. Also, psych yourself out before you go, knowing that, you will get what you pay for. It is polite to ask someone to remove their feet from a chair, or turn off their cell phone, or go and mention it to management! Ask for a pass to a different movie or for another day. Movies are an experience, enjoy.

Wow some of the reviewers are pretty harsh. My fiancee and I are new to Texas and had a lovely time here last Friday evening. The service was quick as well as friendly, and the price was amazing! For those who are complaining of various races 'smuggling' in their treats wow you obviously didn't frequent to view a film, you went to people watch. To the families who work hard for their dollar good for you for being thrifty and frugal so you can afford to show your family a good time :) Well I was one of the so called smugglers,(and I'm a middle class Caucasian woman) It's been my experience that movie theaters do not offer large bags of starburst so yes I choose to bring my own. We were viewing a 2 1/2 hour flick and wanted my treats to last the whole movie without having to get back in line at the concession stand. We still purchased concessions tasty popcorn as well as a beverage. You know not everyone who frequents these establishments are not illegal nor destitute. Shame on you for being so judgy,if you're "too good" to come here then don't.It's that simple! I actually rate 5 stars for the value and service,as well it was really great to view a film that we had actually missed in regular priced theaters (hunger games) due to being busy with a move and all, so as I mentioned before we fully recommend this theater

Personally, I hate the mentality that culture projects on to the public. culture is mind control and a cop out for personal responsibility. Manipulation of the public's cultural ethics is what politics are all about. what can i do to be the eye of the pyramid. Power and control. with that been said, I love to people watch at this theater. Just smuggle in your candy, chips, sodas, beer, illegal immigrant, etc and enjoy the experience. You pay for for the movie and get a lifetime of knowing and seeing the great american slave trade hard at work.

I think the above reviewer got his/her political affiliations backwards. "Liberals" are sterotypically "more tolerant" and "conservatives" are usually intolerant and racists. I am a liberal and I enjoy being around the "westsiders" from San Antonio because of their cultural differences. A dollar theatre is a "poor man's" theatre--if you can't sympathize with poor people (or with people who speak another language) then I recommend you don't go to this theatre.

It's great for the money and anywhere you go you get educated and polite people as well as ignorant and inconsiderate people. Here, you just put up with it for less money. I do agree that the theater seats need to be kept up better but then again, I've been to other theaters that charge regular price, and their bathrooms, seats, or even ceiling needs work. My coworker went to the West Lakes Alamo Draft House, and a piece of ceiling fell right on her lap during the movie; she paid $10.00 or so for that ticket.

Im Hispanic and I hate the audience. They need to build a cube mark on the west side so this one can be used by people with cars again. Adults slapping kids because they won't stop screaming!!! I really am surprised that there are late buses that go to that area at midnight. Other than the price is cheap enough to take all of my WELL BEHAVED kids there I wouldn't recommend this theater to anyone!!! Management- brighten the projectors and close that damn little window so we don't hear the machine!!! Like other theaters!!! Pick up ALL OF THE TRASH AND FIX YOUR SEATS!!!

It's a bargain, but you get what you pay for, especially in terms of your fellow audience members. Unfortunately, the management is too cheap to use the projectors at full brightness, so many movies are very dark, especially any in 3-D.

A recent (and very nicely done) remodeling of the lobby and outside was unfortunately not extended to the theaters themselves, which are in fair condition at best (I guess they figure you won't see the disrepair in the dark.) Get there early, because you'll have to look around for a while to find a seat that isn't either broken or surrounded by trash.
