  If San Antonio didn't have the Bijou we would be an embarrassing cultural desert for cinema. The auditoriums are reasonably large, but because of the tables they never feel packed. The chairs are spacious, but mine had a slight forward slope, which gave me a choice between sliding forward slowly, causing my shorts to bind, or sitting up on the edge of my seat, which is only comfortable for a short time. The food is mediocre and common, but satisfying in a run-of-the-mill sort of way. You don't come for the haute cuisine, you come because you can eat dinner while you watch a movie. The tables are uncomfortably high, and too far from the chairs, so you might as well plan to hold your plate in your lap. Keep that in mind when deciding what to order. The food and drink prices range from excessive to outrageous, like at the airport or a sports arena.
  
  Come for the quality of the films on offer; go out to eat afterwards.
